Miles Puts Me to Shame

Hello all, this'll be my first post on the production blog. I hope most of you know me: I'm Miles Hewitt, and I'm the director of almost all of our films. Before I go into a long egotistical rant, I'll tell you a bit about what our videos dept. has been working on recently.

If you haven't noticed, this July has been one of the best months ever in our company's history; perhaps the very best. We started off the month with The NRA, a great sketch that Sage has already talked about. Next, we released Steam Locomotives, which has been a long time in the coming. Locomotives got off to a historic start: it broke 100 total views within six hours and had 200 views within two days. Building off of this amazing start, the next week we released Doctor Father Mix Master Space Time, another good Schmitt/Hewitt film. It, too, got off to a great start and nearly broke 100 views within the first day.

So how on earth are we going to follow all this up? The answer is, we won't. This weekend, we're releasing two films: a short PSA from Brady and I about breaking 10000 total views and a music demo from our band. We hope that you all enjoy the two of them, and keep in mind that when I get back from camp next week we'll have another great film for you: the long awaited Joy of ferns and other leafy objects. Torey Jones has his biggest role yet in one of our films (playing the Leaf God), and though the film makes little sense, that hasn't stopped us in the past. We look forward to a good August.

Uh....wow. Well, I hope fo my sake that that post took a while to write. I take solace in the fact that Miles writes a lot. He did a good job of summing everything up though! We had an uber band practice and ran through our 7 or 8 song playlist 5 times or so. We hope to have a few more practices and then go out and play in public! And I'm still completely out of it as far as videos go but I promise to try and worm my way into acting! Miles also mentioned to me that he'd like our good friend Brady and I to film something while he's gone, but no ideas yet so we'll see what happens. Not much more for me to say but well done MIles!

Post Number 5

It's been a long time since I last posted... but here I am! "Steam Locomotives" has just been released but to computer issues and YouTube, I have yet to see it. Also, Miles is refusing to tell me anything about it as to not spoil it, so I can't really comment on it, can I? I'll write something about it in due course, as soon as I actually see it. In other news, yesterday Miles, our friend Quetzel and I got together and played some music!!!! Miles was on keyboard, I was on Guitar and Quetzel (or Q-Ball as I like to think of him) was playing the set. It was super fun and we actually sounded really good!!! We played alot of Beetles, but we had a Coldplay song and some 12 bar blues, mostly relatively easy stuff as this was you first time playing together. Hopefully we'll have a video soon when we decide to record something but more realistically it'll be further off, as recording something and being happy with it takes a very long time and is tough logistically. Hsppy veiwing!

A Little News Before I Go AWOL

A few projects being planned of the late, so I thought I'd update everybody! First off a little announcement: I will be taking a leave of absence for the next 5 days so. That means no updates! Not like I would have normally (because I'm lazy and would probably forget to write something) but this guarantees you being in the dark about our projects. Moving on, we are coming up on 10,000 views!!! Miles keeps track of all the views and tells me this is important, so I think I should be exited!! He was talking about releasing a video when we hit that mark, but it's sort of unlikely as we have nothing filmed, except LoTR spoof and I don't think that's ready or the type of movie he was looking for. The plan before was to release the Hobo Rap II but we haven't filmed any of that and that isn't far along enough. On another note, Miles and I are starting to marshal some band members to play some music (and film it I would assume) but that is in very preliminary stages, although very exciting nonetheless. That's about all that's going down in the Greenwall world... Later!

Whiffle Ball

If you don't know, Me and Miles' group of friends play A LOT of whiffle ball. Why not baseball? Because we have two man teams and play in driveways! It's really great fun and works out really well with all of our house rules that we've made up over the past two or three years. Anyways, last Monday was a big whiffle ball tourney! We had four two-man teams on a double elimination bracket over the course of one day. Since normal (4 inning) whiffle ball games usually take an hour or two and we can only play about two in a row before people get tired and start to lose interest, we had to tweak things a little. We shortened the games to two innings a piece and played games simultaneously as to accommodate our situation. Anyways, during the tournament (which went moderately well) we filmed some of the game and a little pre game show that Miles may or may not have deleted for space (don't remember). I think the plan is to do some voice over commentary with two or three people. The original plan was for me to do a sort of "video blog" but for various reasons that didn't work out. Maybe next time! Wrapping up, I just wanted to give both of my readers (probably an accurate statement) a heads up for a possible new release along with a little background and insight into our daily lives!

The NRA

NRA The film "The NRA" has just been released! It's a stand-alone film making fun of gun toting rednecks (much like some people we know and love. No hard feelings!!! (which reminds me that I need to talk to Miles about doing a Liberal or Hippie bash film. Lot's of potential to make fun of ourselves!)). It was a real blast to film and it features me, Sam Ewert, Stephen Kellar, Miles Hewitt, and Torey Jones. It was mostly just on the spot improve by all of us and then filming it as many times as we needed, super casual and super fun, and took comparatively very little time to film. Miles and I (I think) consider this one of the better stand-alone films we've made and are hoping for a strong reception. Get watching!

First Post!

This is the official (and by official I mean condoned by Miles Hewitt) blog of greenwall studios! I'm Sage Van Tilburg, actor and writer for the company. I've decided to keep this blog for fun, and the main thing I'm going to be doing is updating you on the videos and filming sessions I take part in along with up and coming ideas and sneak preveiws of our future plans.
Hopefully I'll update soon!
